Hello Rob,
And Thanks to all who responded offline.
Our idea was to offer a "Free" Gift Certificate that
the donor can send to friends and family along with
holiday greeting message. The Certificate recipient
would participate in a contest to win a brand new car!
What we have learned:
o Budgeting for an internet ad campaign requires a lot
of convincing. Especially for charities run by
volunteer board members
o Almost all of the board members asked for a "pay for
results" option where payment would be based on actual
donations received.
o Targeting and reaching the right demographics is also
something that needs to be planned for well in advance.
(Our plan only relied on our 5,000 membership sending
Gift Certificates to their friends.)
o We are finding that the places where we would like to
advertise, are the same places that are looking for
donations themselves!
Happy Holidays
