Advantages of online advertising

Hi!

I am launching a new vertical portal aiming to set up
internet culture in a very conservative consumer goods
business. Producers in this business invest big money
in advertising on traditional media, but seems to be
particularly reluctant to swap some investments on
internet. Does anyone has practical advices on how I
should present the advantages of on-line advertising?
