Corrina,
Internet Marketing for Dummies was just published this
month by Hungry Minds (formerly IDG Books Worldwide);
it's a thorough revision (25-50%) of Marketing Online
for Dummies, including new chapters on Internet
advertising and Internet PR. (I'm co-author with Bud
Smith.)
While this book isn't appropriate for expert marketers
(unless they want a refresher course), it is designed
for novice online marketers who want a good, practical
overview of Internet marketing, how it dovetails with
offline marketing, and it provides guidance on how to
do just enough strategy so a marketer knows why they're
doing what they're doing.
There are also many other good, basic Internet
marketing and general marketing books (for the latter,
I always like to recommend the classics by Ries and
Trout -- thoroughly readable, and very relevant). But
when it comes to Internet marketing, make sure you buy
a book that's relatively recent -- stats and rules of
thumb get outdated very fast.
