That's not a definition of "marketing" it is a
definition of "customer service". Now, I happen to
agree that you only get one chance to make a first
impression and that it had better be a good one. No
company was ever sucessful with good marketing and poor
customer service. The more I hear about "branding"
from this list and the i-branding list the I think that
branding experts like the rest of us have realized that
good customer service sells and sells well. It is the
backbone of any successful company. "Search for
Excellence" said it 20 years ago (oh my God, I am old!)
and it is still true today.
