Re: Search Engine Domains

Paul

Yesterday I had almost the very same question from one
of our clients. He has had his heart set on one
particular domain name for some time and yep you
guessed it, the .com was taken, however it was
available in .org and .net. My response to his question
and yours would be to take the .net if your domain name
really applies to your information, website, and more
importantly your company. If you do decide to go for a
.com never settle for a "less desirable name", it will
haunt you for a very long time. (perhaps you could
purchase the domain name that you desire) As for the
second part of your question regarding search engine
pulls, I believe that it's almost impossible to
generalize from one to another. Right now it would seem
that each has their own way of registering domains.
(possible some standards would be helpful here?)

Hope it helps,
