MODERATOR'S NOTE: The Tenagra Apogee
Beginning January 24, 2001, The Tenagra Corporation (the
company that runs this Online Advertising Discussion
List) will launch a new publication called "The Tenagra
Apogee." Read on to learn how you can receive a free
subscription.
Published every other Wednesday under the oversight of
Tenagra's Managing Editor Adele Bienvenu, The Tenagra
Apogee will help its 55,000 readers explore how their
businesses can participate in and benefit from the digital
economy.
"Apogee" is a word that denotes the point in the orbit of an
object (such as a satellite) orbiting the earth that is at the
greatest distance from the center of the earth. Similarly, The
Tenagra Apogee represents the communications medium whereby The
Tenagra Corporation extends its broadest reach on a worldwide
basis. As Tenagra and its client base continue to grow and
Tenagra helps more and more organizations find solutions to their
Internet marketing and electronic commerce needs, The Tenagra
Apogee will continue to extend its reach and keep you informed
of the latest industry trends and success stories.
We chose a space-related name for the publication because
of our own strong heritage to the aerospace industry. Tenagra
got its start back in 1994 as a member of a NASA Technology
Incubator that helped emerging companies use NASA technology
and spin it off into the commercial sector. We saw how
NASA was one of the first organizations in the world to
make use of the Web to communicate its mission out to the
public. We realized then that there would be tremendous
business opportunities for professional services organizations
that could help commercial companies use the Web in a similar
manner, and we established Tenagra as one of the very first
companies in the world focused on Internet marketing strategies
and projects.
One of Tenagra's earliest projects involved tying into the NASA
telemetry stream to build the first Web site to take data
from an orbiting commercial spacecraft and put it on the Web
in real-time. The award-winning Web site and public relations
campaign that we created allowed people worldwide to
observe and participate in the excitement of a scientific
space mission. With our CEO having a Ph.D. from M.I.T.'s
department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering,
with one other staff member here at Tenagra having a NASA
heritage, and with our headquarters located immediately
adjacent to the NASA Johnson Space Center in beautiful Clear
Lake/Houston, Texas, we've always maintained that while you
don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand the digital
economy, it sure doesn't hurt to have a couple of them around
to help sort out the technical details!
You will NOT automatically receive the Tenagra Apogee unless
you sign up for it (unless you already are also subscribed to
Tenagra's "Beyond Year 2000" mailing list or the "Tenagra News
and Update" mailing list, in which case you DON'T need to sign
up--the 55,000 subscribers to those two newsletters will
automatically roll over to the new publication).
To sign up, just head on over to http://www.tenagra.com/
and enter your e-mail address, and you will be subscribed.
Subscriptions to The Tenagra Apogee are free of charge!
So fasten your seat belts, secure the hatches, power up the
