Re: Google success story

On the advice of everyone here, I just signed up with
Google. Went really easy - we'll see how fast my $$
runs out in the next few days.

What I really like it GOTO.com. They have a
pay-per-click method that is very similar to Google,
but you can be assured results. You also bid against
other people for the highest spot. The highest bidder
gets the number one spot, etc. I'm not going to give
away my keywords, because I don't want everyone
clicking on them to see what happens, :) but right
now, I am paying about .40 per click through. This is
a lot better than impressions that result in $2.50
click throughs, etc.

Goto also allows you to administer your account the
same way that Google has been doing. They also have a
handy tool that lets you see how many searches of a
particular word or phrase were performed in a month. I
must say that I was a bit wrong when I thought that one
phrase was used much more than another. The tool
basically confirms that people are lazy and not very
specific in their searching. For instance, if they
were searching for Corvette parts, they would simply
enter Corvette, not "Corvette Parts". This was the case
by about 10-1.

Check it out - it's worked well for us...

P.S. Excellent banter Rob. If you haven't joined his
FrankelBee list - you should. Useful info and insight
from people across many areas. Many of them cheap like
me, trying to save $$$.
