Hi brandi:
I can't speak for anyone else, but on FrankelBiz
(http://www.FrankelBiz.com), I charge $1,000 per week
for a three line ad. We only have a few thousand
members, but advertisers love the huge response rates
they get from our qualified members -- 25% to 40% is
not uncommon.
I never charge CPM, because I believe that advertisers
want results, not impressions.
I should also point out that I probably turn away more
advertisers than I accept, often because the
advertisers just aren't brand-compatible with the
list. I think that kind of scrutiny is what
contributes to the high response rates -- readers know
that if it clears our high hurdles, it must be worth
investigating. It's that brand thing again.
Hope that helps.
