This is not the problem with the Google keyword
sponsorships. The problem is that Google is a "geeks'"
search engine. These are people who eat, breathe, live
in computers. Not business people, but computer
programmers. They *hate* the advertising on the web
and having your ad at the top of the page where it
stands out like any of a million other banner ads
offends them. They just skip over it.
I would not be surprised to find out that across the
board the CTR on the ads at the top of a Google results
page are far below that of the AdWords ads which appear
beside the results and are therefore harder for the eye
to ignore.
