What is the diff between PV and DV

I have been using Web Trends to analyse my logs. Could
anybody out there explain what Page Views
(Impressions) are and what Document Views are. The
difference between these two numbers for my site is
enormous. Not just that. When you view detailed results
of the traffic, the totals always add up to the
'Document Views' while the heading under such tables
reads 'Page Views'.

Prior to using Web trends we were using Media House. I
tried to match the Page Views reported by Media House
with the Pageviews report of Web Trends. No relation!
I tried to match Page Views of Media House with
'Document Views' of Web Trends. No relation! Its real
frustrating. Any help on this subject will be highly
appreciated.
