Nothing could be more considerate to the surfer than
opening a new browser window for them. There are some
people who just want to click on a link and go, but
many of us use the right mouse button to open the new
browser window anyway. When you have a slow
connection, or often even just a reasonable connection
(28.8 - 56) it's easier to open a new browser window
to check out an unknown link than to go blindly to a
page which may not load, which may load slowly, or
which may not even exist and then try to get back to
the original page. Precious time is lost this way.
I've been opening new browser windows for my visitors
for years. I've never had a complaint, and many
people come back to my sites on a regular basis.
Seems they like my directories and other links.
Go figure.
