A BizRate survey popup is fine because it allows me to
compliment or vent on the site. It is highly relevant
to me, and it is a third-party window.

What irks me incredibly is the popup window from the
site owner telling me not to forget to bookmark the
window, or come on back now y'hear or even just
thanking me for visiting. These popups are worse even
than the real-world salesman who keeps asking if s/he
can help you.

When I'm ready to leave, I'm ready to leave, so the
popup grabbing me by the coat-sleeve succeeds only in
canceling any positive impressions I may have had about
the site.
