I was curious about the hour plus visitors spend at a
particular site of yours. Do site logs indicate they
view numerous pages, or just one? If it's just one,
you may be part of an emerging trend. The increasing
availability of DSL, cable and other "always-on"
communications is likely causing visitors to "park"
on a particular page while they answer emails, work
on proposals, answer phones, etc. While stickiness
has never been the best measure of a site's
effectiveness, its value will be skewed unless active,
user-engaged visits are distinguished from
"placeholder" visits.
