No "right" to complain? Wha ...? Maybe I've been reading
ISP complaint mail for too long. Not only CAN they
complain, they DO - LOUDLY and in large numbers.
About just about everything. <g>

They also learned how to use the "mute" button. There
WILL be a digital equivalent. Some sparky with a java
compiler will create a "popup killer" - to go along with
the update to their "banner-ad killer".

I've been to your site. Sent a lot of people there to
shoot rednecks in fact. BTW I shot me the rednecks but
I never got me my travel coupon ;) ... And that damned
monkey - would someone punch his lights out permanently
PuhLLLEEEAAASE..!. Tell me - you actually make anything
on that monkey business? <g> ... hey, you want some
horoscopes? (heh heh heh)
Anyway if you can live with your conversion rates and
churn is minimal, then wonderful, more power to you -
in fact I recently said the same thing myself (namely that
there is evidence that the tactic can work and there is
surprizingly little resistance if it is done correctly)
... and got roasted for it.
I have noticed I have been taken to task on both sides
of this issue. Both for saying anything FOR popups, and
for saying anything against. To clarify for those who
don't "thread" well - I am in the middle on this issue.
Not all "popups" are "bad". It's persistent exit popups
I have categorically denounced. I have seen a new java
script that will not let you close it until you click on
the ad link. THAT is definitely in the "BAD" category.
