Well, folks, the way it's shaking out is that if you don't
want your e-mail address to become part of a spam campaign,
simply create a fictitious address. The people at yahoo,
hotmail and the like are only too glad to help out on that
one.

In the meantime, know this:

Even if a vendor swears on the lives of his or he children
that "we do not sell any addresses or names on our list",
that only means they don't sell them. It has no effect on
their rights to convey messages to you on a sponsor or
advertiser's behalf, directly or indirectly.

Of course, the smart money never makes this an issue.
Weaving sponsor messages into content -- in a relevant,
effective manner -- is something that not only increases
advertiser response rates, it can actually earn you high
paise from your members. This happens on FrankelBiz a
great deal of the time.

It's part of the brand.
