Q? Bespoke sponsorship deal for a web publisher?

I am looking into selling advertising space on my site,
and in particular CPM schemes. To my horror, I am
finding the average rates offered from representation
networks are alarmingly low (very different to some of
the info' quoted around the web)

As an alternative I am interested in offering a bespoke
sponsorship solution to companies, so that their
exposure would be more meaningful. This would include
offline activity also. We would even carry out the
development work ourselves.

Does anyone know of any representation companies that
would handle this sort of project? Failing that could
anyone give me any pointers as to where to start?
