This is exactly what our business does. Ramon has
the right idea here. The thing is that all of us
voluntarily look at ads in various media all the time.
We do so when we perceive that ad meets our needs, not in
response to someone trying to shove it down our throat.
So the trick is to provide your users with a choice of
highly targeted information to choose from and thus
empower them to create their own ad experience.
Over the last year we've received about a third of a
million subscriptions to a couple hundred specific
topic lists. Each of these users had to ask twice to be
on our lists, first by submitting a subscribe request
form and then by replying to the confirm email. So
their interest in our service would seem to be sincere.
If any readers of this post would like to tap in to
this income source easily, without the hassle and expense
of setting up the infrastructure needed to manage and sell
this many subscriptions/lists, please let me know. I have
a $50,000 promotion budget I am trying to spend as soon
as possible on promoting our service and would welcome
partnerships with content sites. Details can be found
