Ezines.... try ezines and articles. There are 100's of
1000's of readers out there and they are interested in a
WHOLE variety of subjects. Build an ezine... this is just
a newsletter that takes the form of an email, it has
articles, stories, links to sites and softwares etc that
are relevant to your subject... i.e. ours.....

We talk about Marketing and Promotion, and now I have
many regular article submitters and MANY readers. There
are some ezines that have readerships of 10's of 1000's.

Another idea... write articles and submit them to other
ezines and ezine/article directories.... I sent an
article out once to an ezine and they published it, they
had over 20,000 readers and my SESSIONS (the article had
my URL/link at the bottom), NOT hits, but sessions, spiked
to 2500 in one day... not bad at all. Here is a list I put
together for me first but now I hand it out.... I call it
Promostuff (it also has all of MY articles for people to
use free on THEIR ezines... for bulk fillers if need be...

   http://www.gblast.com/mnews/promostuff.htm

Then I got even more enthusiastic.... I decided to create
my own free Article Directory - AllnetArticles.com -
http://www.allnetarticles.com after all the articles I was
writing and I was having success... I invited all the
regulars to participate and they were very eager.... I now
have over 200 articles in the database in one week... and
have been promoting it to search engines, Links lists, and
putting it at the bottom of all my emails when I go to
discussion groups and help out.

That is the last suggestion..... go to a search engine I
use a powerful and FREE search engine spider called
Copernic... pretty good and nice interface.....
  www.copernic.com

The free version is SO powerful.... I put in things like...
"marketing message board", and "marketing discussion group",
etc see if they fit me and my subject, and join them ...
then once a day I check my emails and see if anyone can do
with my help... in this subject of course!!! When you are
of use or you have something real to say then you are
helpful and people will check you out then want to know
more... BUT only if you use GOOD stuff... NOT like a lot of
people ... they tend to peddle rubbish and think users will
come regularly... NO... that doesn't work.

So ... I hope this little lot helps.... you can take a look
at my stuff if it helps.... and ask me privately if there
is anymore you need to know... (of course ... if there is
something you think the others might benefit from then ask
me over the group....

Good luck
