As far as finding a ad company goes, I suggest that
you head off to geekvillage.com and look in the "making
money on the internet" forum.

That is the best place that I know to ask.

You could look in net-ads.com too for a general guide
to the current options.

One problem is that, for a small site, it is hard to
attract an ad company even if your traffic is highly
targetted. It may be better to try to do some targetting
yourself. Look at companies like Commission Junction or
Link Exchange and experiment by signing up for affilliate
deals with companies which specialise in areas of
interest to your demographic.

Also, consider other affiliate deals. Do you recommend
books om the subject of water birthing
