I see the value in having CMS products. What I don't
get is the value-add that the CMS companies are
providing, considering the costs they are charging. The
whole mindset I keep coming across is so corporate-
Dilberteque. Long on marketing jargon, short on
specifics.

Decent design in the first place can accomplish all of
that without a CMS. I have looked at CMS products that
are little more than the equivalent of FrontPage slapped
together with a database - and the amounts being charged
are obscene.

That sounds like a step in the right direction, but I'm
not even in your ballpark. 20-50Gs (if that's the total
cost) is significantly better than "VinnieSoft", but
it's completely off the scale for the average SOHO. If
you are ever interested in building a SOHO/SME product
contact me off-list.
