Many of the larger ad networks will remain uninterested
in your traffic until it is in the 250K range. Unless
of course, your web site attracts an audience of a very
specific nature that other sites are simply unable to
deliver.

By this I mean visitors that have a specific demographic
trait that makes your visitor base stand-out (of interest)
to advertisers.

On the other hand, with the fees being paid now for
banner ad space at an all time low, you might consider
focusing your attention on solely delivering value to
your visitors and building your relationship with them
rather than allowing 3rd parties to access your visitors
at your expense. I wrote an article on this topic titled
