While every publisher should be looking to maximize
their profits, it shouldn't come as a surprise that
every buyer is also looking to minimize expenses. I
just happen to represent this dichotomy in one person
because I wear the publisher hat for
www.planet-source-code.com and the buyer hat for
www.RentACoder.com.
Bottom line, the CPC model lets me acquire customers
5-6 times less expensively than CPM for RentACoder.
I'd be irresponsible to my shareholders if I went with
CPM rather than CPC.
Oh, and by the way, we do sell CPC on the site you
mentioned (www.planet-source-code.com). I'm not happy
about it, but I don't have a large enough bank account
to be an idealist over a realist.
Sincerely,
Ian Ippolito
