I disagree with this completely. As both a publisher
and a media buyer I can see both sides. I buy on CPA
mostly and I compensate above normal margins in order
to take some branding into account.

It is the publishers job to develop a strong audience.
If they get a ton of I traffic but no buyers then why
would I pay to be there?

The Internet has lower barriers of entry into publishing
to almost nothing. This is why we are under the
microscope. This is why we need to show we can perform,
once a publisher can show that then the revenue will be
there.
