Popups and Cookies (was Re: Popups and exit traffic)

Sure, it's possible - but with IP tracking of course, you'll
have huge blocks of people using the same dynamic IPs.
Still, I would be interested in that - if anyone has or
knows of scripts along these lines (free or real cheap
only please), please post their URLs. It's sort of a rock
and hard place choice between cookies and popups and I would
like to know abot other options. I am sure I am not the only
one.
Speaking of scripts - anyone know of a script you can add to
a form that will make a note of an IP address to a text
file? I am getting a lot of prank sign-ups to my opt-in list
and would like to discourage it.
