Combination of online & print advertising

I've been a silent observer who has been reading posts
from our members for years. Finally, I've got a query
to put your way. I've got a packaged goods client who
has been doing online advertising with us for years.

Here's a bit of background to shed light on the
situation. They've been sponsoring an online game where
respondents have a chance to win money. We've been able
to determine the number of registrants for the online
portion. Now, here's the challenge. The client is ready
to do a newspaper campaign. The question is, "Is there
any research that supports the effect print advertising
has on an online media campaign?" Ideally, we'd like
to provide an estimated number of new registrants who
will sign up for the online game portion.
