Hi everyone:
I'm cross posting this question to a couple of lists,
so please bear with me. This is sort of a broad
question aimed more at our non-American -- or
well-traveled -- friends:
In November, I'll be speaking at a conference in Dubai,
in the United Arab Emirates. Everything is set (I'll
be hopping back through Europe for other speaking gigs
and meetings on the way home). I have done as much
research as I can on the cultural differences between
the USA and the UAE -- and there are lots of them. For
example, I found out that alcohol is tightly restricted
-- to the point where citizens who do imbibe are required
to carry a license.
Naturally, I want to be sure I'm not missing anything
important.
Anyone have a source that can make sure I'm culturally
prepared for this audience?
Thanks,
