Predictions x Reality

Jupiter Media Metrix says that spending on online
advertising will only grow by 5 percent this year. How
can this be true? If you look at the 1st Q fillings of
Yahoo, CNET, TheStreet.com or any other US new media
companies you will notice that their ad revenue is down
substantially when compared to the same period a year ago.
The only new media companies that are performing better
than a year ago that I know are Goto (public traded) and
Google (privately held). So, is there anyone here that
can explain me how Jupiter Media Metrix can predict that
online advertising spending will only grow by 5 percent
this year if most new media companies are under
performing?

Thanks,

Ryan Neves
