Jan, these ads are becoming more and more popular. And
as much as you might hate them, the response rate for
them is very high. We actually use one at the end of
our TwistedHumor.com subscription process to promote
another product and it is incredibly effective. I've
heard that eyeblaster can serve these up for around
$10 CPM, but you need to have your ad copy all created.
Another service is www.EyeGrab.com which is very similar
but the cost is less than half that of eyeblaster from
what we have seen and the eyegrab team will help you
create your ad if needed.
Here are some samples of ads we created and ran using
the EyeGrab technology. If you are on a slow connection,
you'll need to wait a little for the ad to buffer up.

As you can see, you can't help but notice the ads,
regardless of whether you feel they are intrusive or not.
Fact of the matter is that we were seeing click through
rates as high as 26% off of these ads (especially the
1st one.)
The rates are just to serve the ads -- you need you
provide the traffic (web pages.) EyeGrab works with many
networks (probably many of you in here) so that's not a
problem if you want to just buy a turn key solution.
