AOL - Rich Media?

Hello fellow list members,

for a couple of months now my agency has been into a
discussion with AOL Germany, whether they are willing/able
to serve rich media ads (i.e. other than gif) or no. we got
a reponse, that there is no intention of AOL in the
near future to serve rich media ads through 3rd party ad
servers, such as DART that we use.

since i consider at least flash and html banners a standard
advertising format for at least 3 years, it's hard for me
to understand that kind of attitude. my questions to the
american media buyers is: how do you guys deal with AOL?
do they run rich media in the US through DART or do you
simply skip AOL whenever your clients want to run a rich
media campaign? has anyone got into such a discusion with
them?
