How big is that site?

Perhaps someone could help me out...

I'm looking for a source of information where i could
get a rough idea about the traffic volumes to a specific
site/domain, primarily US but other countries is a bonus.

I can only think of two tools: Alexa and Relevant
Knowledge but both have a rather hefty price tag. Are
there any cheaper alternatives out there?
