Ramon et al,
Traditionally event organizers and the media work together
on a barter basis. For example when you see ads in trade
magazines for events, nearly 100% chance that was a barter.
Used to be that the event would give the magazine a
"tabletop" exhibit at the show, plus their logo on
marketing materials as a sponsor.
To move this barter online, you may want to give the media
a link from your site -- or best of all, a co-registration
box on your event registration form so all ticket buyers
can also opt-in to receive the publication.
Although this may generate relatively few names for the media,
those names will be incredibly high quality names because
they are PROVEN ONLINE BUYERS in that arena.
Your second choice is to offer media a percent of the ticket
price for each ticket they sell through ads in their pub.
But you will need an affiliate program in place for that,
plus a proven record of being able to sell tickets.
