press release distribution service?

Hello,

I'd like to ask if anybody has ordered press
release distribution service in a PR distributor agency?
I have PR experience connecting with media in Russia
but I not on any other market (If anybody is interested
with my experience, I'd be glad to share).

I was looking through many Distributor agencies but it
all looks like adv. mail service. You know they all say
that they have a base of addresses and they are ready
to send your press release to hundred and hundred
medias...

It looks like rubish, sorry, but these agencies make
such impression on me. That's why I 'd like to ask you
how you do it? How do you connect with Media?

Please share your experience.
