I hope Positiontech didn't charge you anything more
than $30.00 to submit to Inktomi. In any event, I
directly submit to Inktomi via the Network Solutions
sub-menu pages. Lycos takes from 2 weeks to 4 weeks
before you will see your URL show-up. I suggest
visiting Lycos directly as well as you can
independently add additional URLs for free to the
Lycos database.

Hotbot takes about the same amount of time. However,
submitting via Inktomi you will of course be added
to the Inktomi database itself, of which Hotbot and
Lycos share its database. Nevertheless, you can also
visit the Hotbot site and add your URLs to their own
database too.

I recommend to all of my clients to utilize the
LookSmart database as well. As you probably know,
LookSmart powers MSN, AltaVista, iWon, CNN,
Time Warner and many other ISPs and other large sites.
Their fee is a bit high running at $299.99 for their
Express Submit which gets your site reviewed within
2-3 working days. And their Basic submit that runs
about $149.00 but can take up to 8 weeks before you
see results. You can find some Holiday specials for
the LookSmart submission program knocking off
about $30.00 or so.
