I have to say that I've seen the bottom fall out but I
have yet to find an advertiser that doesn't want to pay
for banner impressions at my site. As targeted as it is,
I know that a banner impression at my site will yield
about 0.05 click-throughs, yet a well-worded campaign
can do a lot better.
Unless under a lot of pressure from my best partner
advertisers (or affiliate programs), I only accept CPA
advertising. As a publisher, this allows me the
opportunity to pick and choose the advertising method
and the benefits of their payment structure. Cost per
action works for me and weeds out the non-performing
advertisers that can be sent targeted traffic yet they
can't close the sale.
