Hello Julia,

I send my company's releases through Internet Wire
(internetwire.com). The have good
distributions lists for journalists (typically
several thousand per channel), and they also send the
releases to hundreds of thousands of opt-in
newsletter subscribers - laypeople, but it's still an
added bonus. You can request an Excel file with the
breakdown of the numbers - I find that very
usefull when deciding which channel to send the
release to.

They have no limit on the number of words, which is
a big plus because you can include a blurb
about your company. They include a logo at no
extra charge, you can use subtitles and can
add images or video (extra cost).

The pricing is reasonable - at least comparable to
other distribution services. On top of that, you
can negotiate teh price when you buy several
releases - I got a good discount when I bought a
set of 12.
