Real simple. That's how/why we built http://www.PillowMail.com .
Because our advertisers average a minimum of 4% clickthrough,
they're willing to pay us 50¢ per clickthrough. We average
an aggregate clickthrough rates for all advertisers of 10% per
story, 5% for all users.
PillowMail is tightly niched and only takes brand-compatible
advertisers. Our traffic is still fairy low, but because it's
as focused as it is, it's far more effective than most sites.
We have no CPM rate. We're strictly CPA. The site is running
at break even for the year, two months out of test phase,
although if you kick out that horrible September, we're
actually profitable.
