First and foremost - get your legal ducks in order.
Incorporate or form a limited liability company. If
your product is patentable - patent it. If it is
copyrightable - register your copyright. If you
have a trademark - register it. And DEFINITELY get
yourself a strong non-disclosure agreement prior to
spreading your new idea with others. They will be
more than happy to take your idea and do all
the things mentioned above themselves.

Licensing is a great way to exploit intellectual
property but is full of traps for the unwary. Find
yourself an attorney before you do anything.
