Re: Online Advertising, whats your advice?
I'm not real familiar with the online matchmaker audience
(this would help in knowing how and where you would want
to speak to someone) and space except to know that there
is a lot of competitors, but here are some things off the
top of my head.
Viral-Super cheap, and already on every page of the search.
Nice. How about referral incentives?
Partnerships-Is there a way to license the technology? Have
a strong tech or creative team? I was thinking by providing
private label and co-branded dating services to sites
focusing on community and vertical niches you could make
money/acquisitions through the traffic they have while
increasing your own subscriber base and taking a cut of the
revenue/ad rev.
PR-your innovation, story, or stunt, angle ect...again could
be very inexpensive and probably fun and creative given your
product.
IM advertising-speak of the devil, and a good way to get
brand exposure in a relevant communication environment
Promotions-Definitely not to early to start thinking about
Valentine's day promos and sponsorships
SEO-Important to any direct marketing program. Overture is
making moves, and Looksmart has some key partnerships as well.
Came up with the Am I hot or not soft-sell a year ago...but
there's more then one way to skin a cat. (what the hell does
that mean anyway)
The affiliate program is also good from a cost effectiveness
standpoint however may not deliver the volume you desire.
Co-reg or cost per lead programs could also be beneficial if
done strategically.
Hope that was helpful,
Adrian.
