Ponit taken :-)

Nice idea. How do you prevent contamination by viruses (ie,
someone unethical downloads one of your apps, adds a virus
and emails it out/uploads it to a site but because other
people have seen the 'safe' version and/or it has your
company name attached they assume that it's OK to open)
Don't mean this in a remotely aggressive way - genuinely
curious.

Yep - it's really down to whether it adds enough value to
justify the cost. Certainly the music CD we distributed
(which also included a secure music download programme)
didn't 'wipe its face' but that could have been down to
the distribution method (covermounted on a magazine) We
had a lot more conversions from the online only version
(which involved mailing out a URL to registered users)
Although AOL obviously find covermounting CDs works :-)

Irregularly shaped, yes. I get quite a lot of mini CDs now,
particularly the business card shaped ones so they've lost
their impact for me.

What kind of conversion rates do you find on CD Roms? Got
to admit, the idea of a personalised PIM is nice - if someone
sent me one that contained dates of trade shows/key events/
publication addresses then I'd probably go to the effort of
opening it (once I'd scanned it for viruses!) Although I'd
rather have the money spent on providing free drinks at a
launch party... :-) (but your way probably creates
more product awareness)

Offer to join an affiliate program? I'd certainly be interested in
some kind of SSI version of your site to incorporate into some of
the sites I run. Sure lots of other people I know would too.
