Re: Do publishers and networks want money?
Interesting point of view.
Out of curiosity, what networks have a $10 minimum?
$10 spent on impressions simply won't provide an
adequate data set upon which to make larger buying
decisions.
In our case, we have a $1000 minimum for a test buy
because we know we're going to invest the time to
find a way to make the campaign work.
None of the networks are going to make any money even
taking test campaigns at a $1,000 minimum. The
opportunity lies in proving our value and getting
$20,000/month over the next 6 months. If you don't
have $1,000 to test, you probably won't ever have the
$20,000/month to make it worthwhile for a
network to run.
Drawing a comparison between what a real online
advertising network does and what CJ.com does is,
frankly, bogus.
If you have a site/concept/product that would work
on CJ.com with its legions of personal homepages and
affiliate malls, then go there. If you need more
intelligence applied to the marketing of your site/
concept/product and need assurances that your
advertising will appear on reputable, professional
websites, then go to a network.
Either way, you need to spend more than $10.
