Unfortunately, Verisign seems to be doing it's best to
confuse domain owners about when their payments are actually
due, too. They are sending out notices so far in advance that
it's easy to forget when the domain actually expires. I have
several domains that expire in March, and I started getting
notices about them in December both in regular mail and in
email. I got several from Verisign yesterday dated January
29, marked FINAL NOTICE in big red letters and "Overdue as
of 25-JAN-2002" -- for domains that don't expire until
March. I find this misleading at best - and I can't help
wondering about the legality of the wording on those invoices.
Another thing people need to watch for are any of the .biz
or other domains registered. I discovered that a .biz domain
I had registered was registered in the service's name, not
the name of my company. It wouldn't have been changed if I
hadn't thought to look up the who is records and ask about it.
