Without a doubt it has been beneficial for Tenagra
(although we are not selling consumer goods). My frequent
postings to the old Internet Marketing Discussion List
in 1994 and 1995 brought us an international client
base for online marketing and Web design, not to mention
paid speaking opportunities all over the world.
My posting to this list just last week about the
co-registration campaign we are doing for a client
brought me two (possibly three) new clients for which
Tenagra is now planning online media campaigns :).
Some of the people that contacted me after that post
were surprised to learn that with campaigns of sufficient
scope, we (or whatever agency is doing the media planning)
will typically do the planning at no charge to the client,
as the agency is typically paid on a commission basis by
the sites selling online advertising, sponsorships, or
co-registrations.

Of course, we do that with this list as well. Next
week, for example, WebTrends is going to be sponsoring
this list, the first sponsor we have had in quite a
while. But judging from the inquiries of late,
there will be more coming soon. :)
