Yes, it sure does. However, if I had to break it down,
I'd say in my case, these forums sell more widgets than
services. But that's probably because my widgets
(books and tapes) are a whole lot cheaper than my
services (brand creations and revenue strategy).
Subscription services (FrankelTips) also sell well from
forums, because the venues are closely related as
information sources.

Absolutely. On FrankelBiz, sponsors have to be approved
before we'll even take their money. Once we do, we go
the extra mile for them: Not only do they get the
standard top text spot every day for a week, but the first
day's FrankelBiz post is dedicated only to that sponsor,
complete with an introduction from yours truly as to why
the sponsor is worth checking out. I personally work with
the sponsor to make their sponsorship especially
meaningful to the members. Because the FrankelBees know
what a stickler I am for ethics and brand compatibility --
and how many advertisers DON'T make it in -- they're
far more inclined to respond.
Although we are not the largest list on the web, I know
we turn in the highest response rates for just that
reason, in both percentages and real numbers.
