I have a little problem with your cons Rob ...

I agree that 80% of the U.S. is using dialup, but they
still have patience to browse the Web. HTML email does
not have to be bandwidth intensive.

Regarding crashes -- please give me an idea of "many"?
If a 15 - 20k file is going to cause havoc on your
system, then you probably need to enlist your most
dopey friend to cunningly convince your mom to buy
you a new Dell.

Longer production time -- I agree. That's a pro and
con you must weigh individually depending on your
situation -- is it worth the increased response? What
kind of increased response will you get?

There is hope for both schools -- the majority of
better services and software offers a text alternative
version when sending in HTML mode.
