Re: Text vs. HTML Emails Ads

HTML definitely causes problems with some users. AOL
has limitations on it HTML viewing ability with it
various versions. We default our AOL users to text
emails. However, once registered we allow them to
switch to HTML.

The presentation benefits of HTML far outweigh the
option of ignoring HTML and only offering text. I
don't believe that the issue of people sitll being
on dial-up is significant. A properly managed HTML
email will open as fast as a web page. And, assuming
your opt-in audience desires to be heard from you,
them the few second wait is not an issue with them.
They know WHO you are, WHAT is coming and that THEY
elected to receive the content. This is the perfect
time to be using the power of HTML emails.
