Re: Text vs. HTML Emails Ads

It's been interesting reading the comments of text
versus HTML email.

I play both sides of the fence in that I have been
involved in the online advertising industry since
it started, but I also now run a Web site and
ezine on managing email overload at
<http://www.email911.com/>.

I wonder how long it's going to take consumers to
figure out that if they filter the BODY of incoming
email for the string: '<img src' (without the
quotes) that doing so will keep 95% of porn email
out of their Inbox and moved to a Possible Spam
folder?

I wonder how long it's going to take marketers to
move full circle back to text email advertising
because folks are filtering out email that has images
in it?

HTML email is fun, but who are we kidding when we say
that it benefits the recipient? It's not the format
that benefits the recipient. It's the content.
