Alex, I don't think length of time spent on a site is a
very good measure of relevancy to a search engine query!
There are many reasons time spent on a site could be
long: compelling content, a Flash site that takes a
long time to load, bad usability, ect. There is no one
ruler to measure every site (but if you happen to need
one, see www.printaruler.com - handy). Usability
testing can show you how users interact with your site
and can help you determine what users are doing on your
site and if these actions are short or long. Then you
take the results, improve your site, and test again. I
wouldn't dream of revising my content to keep people on
my site longer, Ilor be damned!

Sincerely,
Kelley Mitchell
