pop-ups

I've never been a big fan of pop-up ads, but given
the current ad market, I'm ready to take money
wherever I can find it.

Our site has never used pop-ups before. I'm curious
to find out how other sites do the technical
implementation. Do you have them served completely
through a third party, and just cut-and-paste the
required JavaScript into your HTML or ASP code? Do
you attempt to track them yourself (like through
your ad server or by any other means), or do you
leave that up to a third party?

Finally, I'm curious about what kind of rates other
sites are getting for pop-ups. I know there's a wide
range -- I've seen some dirt cheap CPMs and some sky
high CPMs. But I haven't been able to figure out
where the majority of the market is pricing them.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
