Yes.
Revolution Magazine (UK) reported last week that a 110,000
email campaign based around Victoria Beckham's new single
received a 62% clicktrhu to the site.

are you attempting to do with the email?

The only way you can make sure it's not SPAM is to make sure
you have their consent to send them the email!
And you will always get some angry emails back, some people
are like that.

Possibly, again, this depends on what you're trying to do.

There is no single success strategy, I would have thought this
was patently obvious. You can not simply take a concept
and try to make it work for your product if it doesn't
meet your target audience's requirements.
