Hi Michael,
BanManPro has some volume and scalability issues.
It also doesn't integrate well with Double Click
or other advertising banner exchanges that I know
of. What is the limitation? We kept on crashing
the banner server at around 45 requests at the
same time, 1,000,000+ page views a month.
Why is it important to think about integration?
If you want to sell your banner ads and use "your
tracking software and banner server" it needs
to fit the standard of those who may want to
represent your firm or buy into your website(s)
banner inventory.
On a separate note, when I ran a firm called
ClickHouse.com, we underestimated this need and found
it very difficult to sell our own inventory as several
"tracking" softwares existed that our "A category
clients" wanted to utilize. (Such as Ad agencies, Big
Box Retailers, etc.) This gave us the choice of
rebuilding our software or reselling Double Click/Sonar
inventory. We opted for reselling.
If I had the chance to do it all over again, I wish
we built a compatible software the first time around,
this will ultimately secure your independence, which
would be the only reason not to go ASP.
Sincerely,
Ryan A Gibson
